The Willis Tower in Chicago, formerly known as the Sears Tower, is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the United States. The building stands 442 metres tall (527 m with the antenna) and was completed in 1973. Its Skydeck observation platform offers panoramic views of the city, and the glass balconies “The Ledge” allow visitors to stand above the void. The tower is a Chicago icon and an example of modern 20th-century architecture.
