The bascule bridge over the River Thames in London — Tower Bridge — was inaugurated in 1894 after eight years of construction. It is one of the city’s most recognizable structures and a major tourist attraction.
The most striking feature of Tower Bridge is its two main towers, connected by two suspended walkways.
The walkways, located 34 metres above the road, allow pedestrian access.
In 2014, the traditional floor was replaced with a glass walkway.
