The “Twin Towers” of the World Trade Center were the central part of the complex in New York City. For two years, they were the tallest buildings in the world. Each tower had 110 floors. Construction began in 1966 and the official opening took place on 4 April 1973. Around 25,000 people worked in the World Trade Center complex.
