This impressive model of Olorotitan was made in 1:2 scale, which means it is half the size of the real dinosaur. It is 170 cm high and 350 cm long, and its construction was made from as many as 700,000 LEGO® bricks!
Olorotitan (“magnificent giant”) was a herbivorous dinosaur from the hadrosaur family that lived approximately 68-66 million years ago in the areas of today’s eastern Asia (Siberia, Russia). It was characterized by a long neck and a distinctive bony crest on its head, probably used for making sounds or attracting mates during the breeding season.
In nature, Olorotitan reached up to 8 meters in length and 3.5 meters in height. It moved on two or four legs and belonged to the calm, herd herbivores, feeding on ferns and low-stemmed plants.
