The Ostankino Tower in Moscow is the tallest building in Russia, standing at 540 metres. It was completed in 1967 and for several years was the tallest tower in the world. It serves as a television and radio centre and also has an observation deck for tourists. It is a symbol of modern Soviet engineering and one of Moscow’s landmarks.
